Abstract
The human study of which nickel hypersensitivity was correlated with the results of in vitro lymphocyte transformation test and autoradiiography incorporated with tritiated thymidine uptake in the epidermis and the cell infiltration of the dermis of the reactional sites in 14 nickel sensitive patients¢¥ and 11 healthy controls.
The results obtained were as follows;
1. H^(3)-thymidine uptake test of nickel salts (20-40 §¶/§¢) stimulated lymphocyte cultures was significantly increased in the nickel sensitive patients as compared with that of controls.
2. No differences were found in the H^(3)-thymidine uptake ratio of nickel salts stimulated lymphocyte cultures at the concentration of 20 and 40 §¶/§¢.
3. The mean values of H^(3)-thymidine labelling indices in dermal infiltrates were 3.68¡¾1.89 in the nickel patch and null in croton oil patch in nickel sensitive patients.
4. The mean values of H^(3)-thymidine labelling indices in epidermal cells were significantly decreased in the nickel patch (6.1¡¾2.5) as compared with that of Croton oil patch (9.78¡¾3.67) in the nickel sensitive patients.
